⚡ Z Ability vs X Ability — What's the Difference?
🅩 Z Ability — Speed & Control
Z slot skills accelerate reel speed and reduce the risk of line snap. When a heavy fish is pulling the tension bar into the danger zone, triggering a Z Ability buys you several seconds to stabilize. Ideal for deep-zone hunts where one mistake costs the whole catch.
🅧 X Ability — Burst Damage
X slot skills deal concentrated damage or temporarily restrict the fish's movement. Activate at the start of a fight for maximum effect — a well-timed burst at full fish HP deals more effective damage than spreading it. Cooldown resets before most Rare+ fights end.
Top-tier builds equip a Mythical Z skill for sustained fights and a Legendary X skill for burst windows. Using both Mythical in the same slot type wastes the synergy between the two systems.

⚠️ Should You Unlearn a Skill in Titan Fishing?
Unlearning a Titan Fishing skill permanently destroys the Skill Book. It cannot be recovered, refunded, or traded. This is a one-way, irreversible action.
Only unlearn when all three conditions are met:
- You have a confirmed higher-rarity replacement ready to equip immediately.
- The book you are removing contributes nothing to your current zone or build.
- You have no plans to run a build type where that book would be useful again.
If you are unsure whether the replacement is an upgrade — do not unlearn.
